mixblogz.blogspot.com
DeMarco Murray was born on February 12th, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Bishop Gorman HS, Murray was considered one of the best running backs in the 2005 recruiting class. After rushing for 1,947 yards, 27 touchdowns, and gaining a total of 2,571 yards from scrimmage in his senior year, DeMarco was honored as an All-American and was elected to the 2006 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

It was at the All-American Bowl where Murray chose the Oklahoma Sooners over the USC Trojans on live television. When Murray stepped on the field for the first time in 2007 he showed the country why he was one of the top running backs in his class. In his first game against North Texas he ran for an OU single game record 5 touchdowns and an astounding 201 rushing yards.

DeMarco’s continued success throughout his freshman campaign ended with Murray be named a Freshman All-American as well as tying Adrian Peterson with OU’s freshman record of 15 total touchdowns. After three more successful seasons as the Sooners starting running back, DeMarco Murray solidified his legacy as one of the best running backs in OU Football history.

In the 2011 NFL Draft, DeMarco was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. In just his 7 game as a Cowboy and his first where he carried the bulk of the workload, DeMarco ran for a total of 253 yards, 1 TD on 25 carries, breaking Tony Dorsett’s and Emmitt Smith’s records for most single game rush yards in franchise history. With this incredible performance, DeMarco became just the 11th player in NFL history to rush for 250 yards. Murray’s 253 yards is the 10th best in NFL history and 2nd best amongst all rookies All-Time!
