The box office numbers are in! In it’s first weekend at Japanese movie theaters, Naruto the Movie: Road to Ninja grossed an estimated $3.8 million US dollars. Compared to Naruto Shippuden the Movie 5: Blood Prison, which grossed an estimated $1.5 million US dollars
in it’s first weekend, that’s over two times more!
Naruto the Movie: Road to Ninja was the third most grossing film in Japan and tenth overall in the world during the weekend of July 28th and 29th. Road to Ninja was not a worldwide release so hitting the worldwide top 10, in Saiyan Island’s opinion, is a great accomplishment.
It's the 6th movie in the Shippuden series, has actually done better than it’s last 4 predecessors. In it’s first weekend, Naruto Shippuden the Movie 2: Bonds grossed $1.9 million US dollars, Naruto Shippuden the Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire grossed $2.0 million US dollars and Naruto Shippuden the Movie 4: The Lost Tower grossed $1.9 million US dollars.
